INCAS participated with two representatives, Alex Vlad and Sorin Ghemulet, at a
specialized training program on the Cloud Condensation Nuclei Counter (CCNc) hosted by a
training facility in Namur, Belgium, from May 27 to 31, 2024. The main topic was the
operation and applications of the CCNc, an instrument also available at the Strejnicu facility.
It was a valuable opportunity for Alex and Sorin to meet colleagues from across Europe,
exchange knowledge on CCNc usage, and gain insights into advanced techniques and best
practices in cloud microphysics research. The training enabled them to deepen their
understanding of CCNc operations and its importance in cloud formation, weather, and
climate systems. Additionally, it allowed them to enhance their technical expertise, explore
troubleshooting exercises, and build professional relationships that could lead to future
collaborations in climate and environmental research. This experience further strengthens
their ability to contribute to advancements in climate models and the BRACE-MY project’s
research activities.
